In order to meet our clients’ needs, we provide a wide range of training opportunities to our care workers.  

All care workers attend regular training sessions with the in-house training co-ordinator to keep their knowledge and skills up to date. All new members of staff who are 'new to care' undertake the Care Certificate as well as our in-house induction.  

All care workers must attend our in-house induction course, which covers.

•    Defibrillator Use
•    Moving and Handling
•    Infection Control
•    Catheter Care

Distance Learning Courses

Care workers are able to study at home and complete units of courses which are then submitted to the tutor for assessment and upon completion, certification. Subjects include: Dementia Awareness, Safe Handling of Medicine, Equality and Diversity, End of Life Care, and many others.

Workshops

Periodically we arrange for a professional trainer to visit our offices to deliver a workshop-style training session. Subjects vary and largely depend on the training requirements of the staff body at the time. Preferred topics include:

•    Conflict Management (Dealing with aggressive behaviour)
•    Protection of Vulnerable Adults
•    Mental Capacity Act
•    Catheter and Stoma Care
•    Dying, Death and Bereavement
•    Pressure Area Care
